Heli Hartikainen is an experimental saxophonist and composer. CHRONOVARIATIONS combines music and spatial art, consisting of a sound installation and concert of experimental electroacoustic music. The piece explores resonance, the concept of time and change; timelessness, loss of a sense of time, the degradation of memory as well as repetition. The sound installation at The Other Sound consists of electromagnetically vibrating transducers that transform industrial metal rescued from a junkyard into resonating speakers. At the heart of the piece is the tenor saxophone. Performing alongside Hartikainen is sound artist Esther Calderón Morales.
