In addition to the curated art collection, the design collective Sun Effects is responsible for the lighting design of their title venue, The Other Sound x Sun Effects. Sun Effects also brings VJ artists Janne Ahola, VJ Oka, Merle Karpi and Mikko Kunnari to the event to create visuals for some of the venue’s performers.

Janne Ahola
Janne Ahola is a Helsinki-based designer and video artist. Ahola has been experimenting with projection mapping and digital art for the past decade. His artistic approach fuses the traditional mediums of drawings and paintings with digital elements, spanning a diverse spectrum that includes live performances, video, and installation art. www.janneahola.com

DJ Oka
Versatile and experimentative live video artist Oka bends her visuals from ambient to raw style and enjoys performing at cosy underground events just as much as at larger productions.The endlessly looping stream of images mixes abstract shapes, fine lines, and natural themes, particularly foliage and animal characters. Perhaps the best-known ones are the observative cats, but whatever ends up on the screen(s) is always a matter of moment and mood.

Merle Karp
Merle Karp is a Helsinki-based visual designer, video artist and VJ, also known as Folded Visuals. She is the artistic director and a co-founder of Aavistus Festival. In her work, Karp uses video to create moods and environments. Often known for her nature themes, such as mosses, ferns and rippling ponds, she aims to evoke soothing, dreamy mindscapes. Mikko Kunnari
Mikko Kunnari is an artist born in 1979 in Kemijärvi, Finland. Kunnari is interested in merging light, sound and video in new ways. He is especially fond of generativism, the DIY spirit and new systems. As a VJ, he aims to discover original technical methods for producing images, experiences and feelings.
