X Garden presents the best clubs in Helsinki
At the 2023 festival, Flow Festival proudly presents its new venue, X Garden, which praises the diversity of Helsinki's club scene. The venue's program has been curated by three of the city's most adventurous collectives, each taking over the space on a different festival day. Celebrating the brown and black queer community, Club U-Haul is in charge of Friday's program, the bohemians of Helsinki's nightlife Club Zero have curated Saturday's program, and rave-trance-techno phenomenon Korgy will take over X Garden's Sunday. The new X Garden venue replaces Red Garden from previous years.
Club U-Haul is a club and party concept founded by three friends, Sophia Wekesa, Meriam Trabelsi, and Caroline Suinner. Club U-Haul's mission is to serve its community and celebrate brown and black queer culture. U-Haul X Garden takes over Flow Festival on Friday, featuring the boundary-pushing Australian DJ C.FRIM, Finland's top rapper and captivating DJ Yeboyah, and MORA, who draws inspiration from her Persian roots, the luminous DJ-duo FWU, dancehall and amapiano enthusiast Lulu, and DJ Renaz, who delighted the audience at Flow last year. In addition, U-Haul X Garden will feature a group of dancers and interdisciplinary artists who will enhance the club atmosphere, as well as safer space hosts who ensure the comfort of every partygoer and welcome each participant to the club as they are.
On Saturday, X Garden's program is curated by Helsinki-based record label BELOW0 and their club night, Club Zero, which has gained immense popularity thanks to its unique lineup and eccentric marketing tactics. BELOW0's bohemian approach to nightlife curation has created a cult-like following for Club Zero. Taking the stage at Club Zero X Garden are Yung Sherman, founding member of the pioneering Sad Boys music collective, DJ and producer Paul Seul, known as a founding member of Casual Gabberz, Glayden, a Helsinki-based artist, DJ, and founder of BELOW0 with his live set and DJSOULSEEK providing danceable rhythms. The program also includes DJ JVS, drawing inspiration from old-school progressive tracks and techno, BELOW0 artists inter alia and Niko Demus with their back-to-back sets, MFM, providing immersive experiences with genre-blurring sets, and Mechanic, diving into electronic music from the 90s.
On Sunday, X Garden will be taken over by Korgy - a queer, ironically humorous rave-trance-techno phenomenon known for organising some of Helsinki's hottest parties. The essence of Korgy is its commitment to creating a welcoming bubble of uninhibited self-expression and banging dance music that does not take itself too seriously. Taking the stage at Korgy X Garden are DJ Heartstring, the Berlin-based ambassadors of Trance Dance Music, Korgy's resident DJs Miika2TheMax, explosive Helsinki-based performer ceb, and Lara Silva, a member of the Korgy family. Additionally, Korgy X Garden will feature Sallidoing playing house and techno, promising DJ CNA with her Wellness Center performance, Joonas K offering true rave spirit, and Little Miss Anti-Social Butterfly 2.0 Effective Voluptuous, Korgy's resident DJ and a figure known from the legendary Club La Persé.
X Garden's world-class DJ sets, captivating performances, and unique club concepts are guaranteed to make you dance. Each collective creates an exceptional atmosphere in the venue that must be experienced firsthand.
